Guru Gobind Singh Ji & the 52 Poets

$75

Glory to the Court of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Court of Anandpur.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji's court attracted poets and artisans far and wide and is well known to house 52 poets.
In this depiction of Guru Ji and his poets, I take reference from a painting I saw many years ago and attempt to recreate it. In the foreground a poet recites one of the many works that are said to have been shared and preserved in the Court of Anandpur. Beside Guru Ji on his right next to his famed white hawk is the text within which it was said to have held all of the Court's writings including Guru Ji's, The 'Vidya Sagar Granth'. It is said the this Granth was unfortunately lost when the Sikhs crossed the river Sirsa after the siege of Anandpur Sahib.
This work reminds us of the rich and open mindedness that our Guru Ji's held as they sought to consolidate and share knowledge and wisdom to all humanity without prejudice.

Blessings & Love,
