In this simple oil painting I depict the Baba and his companion, Bhai Mardana, traversing mountains on foot in their mission to travel far and wide to spread the divine word. In this scene Baba Nanak ji lends a hand to his friend and encourages him to keep moving for the mission is critical, the world weeps and only divine wisdom is the salve.
